Rewarding DAR Use

Once you and your child have finished practice with the DAR, you are ready to start implementing the Home Behavior Record (HBR; see Chapter 5). Remember that it is best to set aside some time each afternoon or evening to review the points your child has earned on the HBR and provide praise.

As we have discussed before, your child will always have five goals on her HBR. Once she has mastered a skill, you can remove it from the HBR and substitute the next one.

To get started, use the following five goals, which are the first five goals listed in the Mastery Worksheet at the end of this chapter:
